Long Path
Transportation - One of the amazing things about this trail system is its close proximity to NYC! Just take the A train to 175th street or the C and 1 train to 168th street and run across the George Washington Bridge. Once off the bridge you make a right turn to go up the stairs to the trail. Ongoing construction in the area has caused a detour and an outline of the detour is available at the link below.

The Trail - The Long Path is a 357-mile long-distance hiking trail beginning at the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, New Jersey and ending at Altamont, New York, in the Albany area. For those who want maybe a slightly shorter run, the path has a variety of options for loops and out and back distances! The Long Path has several connections to the Shore Trail, Carpenters’ Trail, Dyckman Hill Trail, Huyler’s Landing Trail, and more. The trails are mostly single track and have options ranging from less technical to advanced trails with scrambles. To help you plan your route, here are some websites that give a variety options.

Tips -
*The within the first couple of miles of trail, you will go behind a Wawa incase you need to stock up on food/water or use the bathroom. A couple of miles after that there is a parking lot with a bathroom and water fountain (only open in warm months).
*Post run, you are close enough into Manhattan that you will have a ton of options.
